Every day is a new day. With Fall rapidly approaching and Thanksgiving right around the corner, we have so much for which to be thankful. As I watch the leaves scurry across the ground and through the air, I am reminded how we live our lives. Are we giving meaning to each day, or are we just "scurrying around"?

Reflection

As I recline on the newly restored patio, sipping on a cool glass of lemon water, I recognize the calmness that God is providing for me to enjoy. The random chirpings of the birds and crickets, the smell of the newly mowed grass, and the grazing of the cows help to make country living a time of total relaxation--a get away.

I can just imagine the times that I will be able to share this patio with my son, his wife, and 2 daughters. The girls can run and play while they experience the Texas skies and nature.

Until they can be here, I look forward to sharing the area with friends and other family members. The patio is only part of the enjoyment. Meandering through my Texas trail on foot or bike, solo or with friends provides the joy of being in the country and creating an ambiance of calmness and enjoyment of God's nature.

MiMi in Waiting

About 9 months ago, I got a phone call, "MiMi, we are pregnant, and Bri is going to be a big sister". Well, as you can imagine, I was excited, asking questions and thinking--Mommie, Daddy and Bri were visiting me at that time--Wow! when is it due? What names are chosen?
Preparing to be a 2nd-time MiMi and suddenly, I retrieved my Long Distant Grandma book to see what I could prepare for the new sweetheart, and how I could remind Bri that she is still as important as she has always been. Oh, Boy, do I have wonderful plans for the future!!

Now, it is 9 months later, and I am patiently waiting for a phone call (I am sad that I can't be there), but I am thankful for cell phones. I am just a phone call away.

Let's Get Physical

Which is your physical activity choice? Biking, hiking, climbing, singing, or aerobics? It seems that the latest craze is different, according to your geographical area and the circles in which you run (or walk as the case may be).
Why is it that we want this activity? Let me know why you get physical.
